Valagro, as one of the world’s leading company in the production and commercialization of biostimulants and specialty plant nutrition solutions, will attend the 3rd World Congress on the use of Biostimulants in Agriculture in Miami Hyatt Regency Hotel, presenting the results of a collaborative research project developed at the "Joint Lab" of Sant'Anna School in Pisa. The 3rd Biostimulants World Congress will take place on November 27-30, 2017, and will welcome over 1,200 delegates representing companies and organizations from over 60 different countries to prove that farmers, regulators, scientists and industries are still learning about research-based biostimulants and their role in sustainable agriculture.

Alberto Piaggesi, Global R&D Director of Valagro, will present recent advances in proprietary technology based on natural microRNAs extracted from plants that modulate different physiological processes in genes of interest. Current studies suggest that these plant genetic sequences can modulate targeted physiological responses in plants offering a potentially novel approach for the future development of highly effective biostimulants

A complementing study, to be presented by Alessandro Biasone, Lab Specialist - Synthetic & Analytical Chemistry of Valagro, will focus on advanced genomic analyses for the chemical characterization of humic substances of different origin aimed at the development of specific formulations as biologically active natural products which can help to reduce fertilizer application rates and enhance efficiency of nutrients use.

Giuseppe Natale, CEO of Valagro, said: "This innovative approach based on “omics” (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics) technologies which Valagro will present at this World Congress on Biostimulants allows us to broaden our knowledge on innovative products that are truly responsive to the needs of farmers. We combine productivity and sustainability to meet future food demand of the world’s growing population. The Congress represents a valuable opportunity to share Valagro's know-how with the scientific community and the industry to promote the consumption of high-quality foods.  Our continuous commitment to the research and development aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the current situation in the field of biostimulants. Our main objective is to develop innovative concepts and to establish a scientific framework for future development of biostimulants designed to help farmers meet growing agricultural demand sustainably. Finally, we aim to increase our position in the global market to become a key player for biological solutions in sustainable agriculture”.
